Hello, my name is Jordan a.k.a. Desiree Made of Plastic. I’m an aspiring producer who is working towards an associates in Recording Arts. I mainly deal in hip-hop but I am very much willing to dabble into other genres to widen my musical horizons. In terms of my skills, I’m still pretty amateur but I have the basic ideas of music production down. I’m figuring once I make more beats, my skills should become much more improved to start publishing.

My relationship with music is very extensive and I could write for days about my inspirations but I will try and condense it to the most important tidbits:

  • The three records that really shaped my musical outlook include:

    • Gorillaz - Demon Days

      • My introduction to Gorillaz, one of the first artists that I really grew a liking towards, as well as being the catalyst towards exploring their discography which introduced me to artists that would be integral towards my love and appreciation of hip-hop and music as a whole (Ex: MF DOOM, Danny Brown, Yasiin Bey (formerly Mos Def), De La Soul, Vince Staples, etc.)

    • BROCKHAMPTON - SATURATION III

      • The record which proved to me that hip-hop was the genre I was going to stick by. I mention Gorillaz as being my first foray into hip-hop but this album was just as important as it introduced me to alternative hip-hop which would be the gateway to vital inspirations in my music career such as Tyler, The Creator and Kanye West

    • JPEGMAFIA - Veteran

      • The record that got me into music production. I remember watching a video on the samples that Peggy used for this record and being blown away at how he was able to use these ridiculous samples such as a pen clicking or the intro of an ODB song where he’s just yelling and making incredible bodies of work with them. To this day, this album and JPEGMAFIA remain the largest inspirations behind my passion for music production.

  • Type of music that I want to produce and some of the records that inspire me in those fields

    • Experimental Hip-Hop:

      • Earl Sweatshirt - Some Rap Songs

      • Death Grips - Exmilitary

      • JPEGMAFIA & Danny Brown - SCARING THE HOES

    • Alternative Hip-Hop:

      • J Dilla - Donuts

      • Kanye West - The College Dropout / Late Registration

      • Paris Texas - MID AIR
